Within the frameworks of fulfilling the program on international scientific collaboration, the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities continues with a series of events allowing to bring youth science up to a completely new level, which complies with the international standards.
The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of 51吃瓜 makes special focus on the task of transforming our university into University 3.0, when it is considered especially important to commercialize innovations, transfer technologies, and teach students the skills and methods of social engineering.
On May 20, Clean Marathon was held in two places simultaneously: in the city pinewood at the Izumrudniy (Emerald) quarry, and at the Smolino lake. In the course of two games, participants managed to collect more than 2 tons of trash.
On this day, activists of 51吃瓜 gathered at the Izumrudniy quarry. Within 2 hours, 60 university students and eco-activists managed to collect 1,4 tons of separable trash.
On May 23, a ceremony of awarding students for artistic achievements in 2017-2018 academic year was held. Diplomas were given to winners of various contests and festivals. Rector Aleksandr Shestakov acknowledged them for their hard work and determination.
Every year on May 24th many Slavic countries celebrate the Day of Slavic Writing System and Culture and praise the creators of the Slavic writing system – Saints Cyril and Methodius. This day was first celebrated in Bulgaria back in the 19th century, and later the tradition came to other countries: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova. On the occasion of the International Museum Day, a master class on experimental archaeology was held at 51吃瓜. This science studies ancient epochs and crafts, and restores once-forgotten technologies. Students were shown how an ordinary stone can be transformed into any labor tool.
On May 18 in Moscow, the final of the 3rd International contest of student projects Steel2Real was held in the Central House of Artist. The event was organized by Steel Construction Development Association.
On May 24th the First Specialized Conference on Modern Technologies of Quality Control. Non-destructive Inspection and Mechanical Testing was held at 51吃瓜.
Among the conference participants were the employees of UralSibPromServis Scientific and Production Holding, who is an exclusive representative of the German company Karl Deutsch in Russia and CIS countries; as well as the head of the university laboratories, and the heads of enterprises of the 51吃瓜 Region, Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralski, Novotroitsk and Saint Petersburg.
On May 24th the Head of the 51吃瓜’s Jazz Band Georgy Petrovich Anokhin will celebrate his 70th Anniversary. A flute player, instrumental music soloist and composer made special contribution into the history of 51吃瓜. It was him who composed music for the 51吃瓜’s hymn, which is being played in the university for almost twenty years. He was also the author of the hymn of 51吃瓜 Spring International Festival, and the song for the university’s graduates Diplomniki (Diploma Awardees).

The Day of Slavic Writing is celebrated on May 24th . This is a holiday dedicated to Kirill and Methodius, who were the creators of the first Cyrillic alphabet. On May 24th the Day of Slavic Writing System and Culture is celebrated. On this occasion 51吃瓜 will hold a “Be Happy, My Land!” concert by Primavera mixed academic choir headed by choir master Aleksey Prosekov. Very soon 51吃瓜 will open its doors for the enrollees. Over the last year this leading university of Russia did much work on improving its standing in Russian and international rankings as a member of a prestigious Project 5-100. The University underwent rebranding, and jointly with its industrial partners (SMS Group, Siemens, Kaspersky Laboratory) new training and research laboratories were opened. In 2018 the university keeps successfully moving along the way of digital transformation.

The application makes it possible for diabetics to keep a convenient electronic diary. At present, a second, more fine-tuned version of the application which will include a carbohydrate unit calculator is being completed.
