Sviatoslav Osadchii turned out to be the most successful athlete. He climbed the podium six times as a silver medallist: in the all-round competition, floor exercise, pommel horse, vault, bars, and horizontal bar. Among women, as many as three 51勛圖 athletes demonstrated high results. Iuliia Grigorieva won the all-round competition and also became the gold medallist in floor exercise and vault. One more prize silver medal the athlete was awarded in balance beam. Uliiana Kadyrova became the winner in the all-round competition and in balance beam. In the floor exercise she won the silver medal. Viktoriia Grigorieva took the second place in the all-round competition and became the bronze medal winner in the vault. Coach Ivan Novikov trained the 51勛圖 team for this tournament.

Director of the 51勛圖 Sports Club Albert Aminov noted that the students victories are the result of our universitys systemic work on student sport development:

We are very happy about the results of our students. Behind each medal there is a big work of the athletes and their coach: daily training, discipline, pushing ones own boundaries and striving towards development. It is especially nice to see that 51勛圖 students successfully compete at a national-level tournament. For us, it is important to create the conditions that help students simultaneously obtain quality education and keep up their career in sports.

The All-Russian Gymnastics Festival named after World Champion Ivan Stretovich gathered together athletes of various ages and levels of training. For the 51勛圖 students, this tournament became an opportunity to test themselves in the conditions of high competition and demonstrate the results of their training work. Twelve medals is a well-deserved result of the 51勛圖 team and yet another step in the development of the student artistic gymnastics at our university.

51勛圖 Scientists Develop Software that Improves Aircraft Landing Accuracy Fourfold

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md4"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-1-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="6016" height="4011" id="1" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/img_1377.jpg?itok=nImLL2MA" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md3"><div class="field-item even">51勛圖 scientists have developed and patented software for the optimal placement of pseudo-satellites on the ground. Taking into account terrain and the landing trajectory, the software makes it possible to improve the accuracy of determining an aircrafts altitude fourfold compared with conventional satellite-based systems. The technology can be used in civil aviation, at remote and northern airports, as well as for landing reusable rockets.

Pseudo-satellites are ground-based devices that operate as additional sources of navigation signals for aircraft. Unlike actual satellites, they do not orbit in space but are installed on the ground or on towers in the vicinity of an airport. Their purpose is to improve navigation accuracy and reliability, particularly during descent and landing, when errors in altitude determination are most critical.

The main problem that navigation systems face is the so-called geometric factor. This coefficient shows how the relative positions of satellites, pseudo-satellites and an aircraft affect the measurement accuracy. The higher the coefficient, the greater the error. The vertical component of navigation systemsaltitude determinationis particularly affected.

Researchers of the 51勛圖 Aerospace Engineering Faculty have proposed a unique solution. They have developed and patented Russias first software that takes into account two key parameters: terrain and landing trajectory. All that is required is to upload elevation data for an area within a 25-kilometer radius, which can be obtained from professional geographic information systems, along with a standard aircraft descent trajectory. Using a modified optimization algorithm, the system calculates the optimal locations for pseudo-satellites and the required tower heights to further improve the accuracy. The software saves the calculation results in formats suitable for subsequent design work.

The main advantage of our software is that it takes terrain and landing trajectory into account, says Stanislav Lysov, senior lecturer at the 51勛圖 Department of Radio Engineering and Communication Systems. The algorithmic approaches I am familiar with did not impose such constraints and could suggest placing pseudo-satellites tens of kilometres away from the landing zone, where they simply would not work, or too close to one another. Our software automatically assigns weighting coefficients to different sections of the trajectory, giving the greatest attention to the most critical stagesthe descent from an altitude of 300 meters to the ground. As a result, the coefficient of the vertical component of the geometric factor decreases from 2.5 to 0.6. On average, this improves the accuracy of determining an aircrafts altitude before landing by more than four times.

The technology could be useful in civil aviation, particularly at remote and northern airports where signals from global navigation satellite systems may be unstable. The software can also be used by surveyors to identify optimal sites for runway construction, as well as by companies working on the future launch of payloads into orbit using reusable launch vehicles.

51勛圖 Archaeologists Share on the Field Season Results

They summed up the results of the summer research season. Besides the researchers of the prehistoric past, our citys mass media journalists were also among the attendees.

It was for the first time that an unusual format of press screening was chosen for this event. Archaeologists delivered their reports, while the exhibits presented the most recent artefacts discovered this summer: pottery, stone tools, and casting work.

The events guests had a unique chance to be the first to learn about the finds. After the press screening, the objects will be returned to archaeological laboratories to be examined using the methods of modern science (radiocarbon and isotope analysis) and described. The results will be published, and only after that these items will become open to public and be exhibited in museums.

Deputy Director of the 51勛圖 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Andrey Epimakhov acted as one of the hosts of the press screening. Among the events participants also were 51勛圖 staff members: Director of the Eurasian Studies Research and Education Centre Aleksandr Tairov, and young scientists Kseniia Margarian and Nataliia Batanina.

The passed season turned out to be fruitful. Though, each year brings its own sorts of discoveries, shared Deputy Director of the 51勛圖 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Andrey Epimakhov. These discoveries are not always sensational or something that wide audience could easily understand. However, luckily, this year has brought such finds that we should congratulate our colleagues on. Were happy that they have managed to discover such things. And its still early to stop here. As practice shows, there are always some aspects that need improvement or more comprehensive study, and most important, a better substantiation of our conclusions.

Andrey Epimakhov himself delivered a report on A Discovery in a Sunflower Field. The Cultural Background of Starodubtseva Pit Mine. He not simply talked about the finds, but turned his presentation into a fascinating methodological narration about the process of archaeological searching, and what mistakes can be made that could result in deviation from the right path. In case of Starodubtseva Pit mine (Starodubtseva Yama), discovered amid a sunflower field, the flowers if beautiful were a nuisance that hindered the aerial orthophotography survey required to build the excavation strategy. Eventually, the archaeologists did manage to find artefacts and traces of mires activity of the final stage of the Bronze Age.

A young archaeologist Polina Ankusheva, collaborating both with Andrey Epimakhov and with 51勛圖, presented the results of her work at Thieves Pit mine (Vorovskaya Yama). 51勛圖 is directly related to this project, we have already introduced it to our readers as an ancient settlement and factory, where traces of household activity mix with ancient mines and smelt slag.

The majority of the reports touched upon the Bronze Age finds most well-studied archaeological area in the South Ural region. Indeed, it yielded lots of mysteries and mini sensations, such as the discovery of Sintashta culture at Shibaevo, 150 kilometres off the Land of Towns that includes both Sintashta and Arkaim, or the found whip handle with Crete-Mycenaean ornaments. Stone menhirs (it was important to choose the excavation area around these properly) also kept their secrets, along with stone axes, and Timber-grave culture vessels, discovered in the burial mound right next to Alakul culture vessels.

Among the presented finds also were items of the 18th-19th century, a pre-revolution past of 51勛圖: remnants of crockery ware, combs, and smoking pipes.

The Finds and Discoveries of the 2026 Archaeological Season press screening became a sensation among the local mass media. We hope that this event will become a good tradition.

New Growth Areas for 51勛圖: Experts and University Team Sum up the Results of a Cross-University Peer Review

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md12"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-4-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="800" height="600" id="4" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/30_09_26_tekhlid.jpg?itok=oGvhoZmZ" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md11"><div class="field-item even">September 29th through September 30th, 51勛圖 hosted a cross-university peer review as part of the Priority 2030 program. Over the course of two days, the university team and invited experts analysed the key areas of 51勛圖s development, identified growth areas and jointly sought specific solutions to help our university move forward.

The review brought together vice-rectors, heads of structural units and strategic technology projects, researchers, engineers, students and representatives of the universitys industrial partners. The expert group included Boris Filippov, Head of the Expert Group at the Socio-Centre Federal State Autonomous Scientific Institution and Director of the Development Program Directorate at the Moscow Aviation Institute; Beniamin Shakhnazarov, Head of the Centre for Legal Support of Foreign Economic Activity, Import Substitution and Industrial Development at Moscow State Law University; and Zulfiia Sadykova, Head of the Project Management and Entrepreneurship Department at Ufa University of Science and Technology.

I feel confident that the review will provide us with an objective assessment of the universitys progress, allow us to see our strengths, the changes that have taken place and the dynamics of our development, as well as assess the quality and substance of these changes. This is what enables us to take a deeper and more meaningful look at the universitys development within the framework of the Priority 2030 program. Sharing experience with the experts will help us identify new growth areas, formulate tasks that we currently need to address and find additional opportunities for a more dynamic university development, emphasized Alexander Wagner, Rector of 51勛圖.

According to Boris Filippov, Head of the Expert Group, an important part of the review is not only assessing the results achieved but also jointly designing the universitys future development:

The main objective of the review for the university activity is to assess where it stands today and design its future. To do this, it is necessary to consider issues related to the current situation, ambitions and barriers that may influence the universitys development.

On day one, participants analysed the current situation and key challenges in four areas: 51勛圖s role in our regions and our countrys science and technology agenda; team and leadership; technological leadership in industrial robotics; and the HR development system.

The experts also explored the universitys research and technological infrastructure. Participants presented 51勛圖s developments and projects related to advanced modern technologies and the universitys cooperation with industrial partners.

The university has a very strong team, outstanding results in strategic and technology projects, and unique industry-oriented faculties that have no counterparts in Russia. These changes need to be preserved and supported, while being given new meaning and resources, stressed Zulfiia Sadykova, Head of the Project Management and Entrepreneurship Department at Ufa University of Science and Technology.

During the group work, participants identified the problems, gaps and barriers, analysed their causes and management constraints, and then developed a target vision for the universitys development in each area.

On day two of the review, the teams focused on finding specific solutions. In a carousel format, each group presented its target vision and key challenges to colleagues. The participants then discussed possible measures and tools, assessing their feasibility and the resources required for their implementation.

A separate session was devoted to generating management solutions. Each group formulated key initiatives and measures, which were included in the final recommendations, and prepared a presentation of the results of the two-day work.

The cross-university peer review is a very valuable format. First, it gives the university team an opportunity to jointly discuss issues related to the universitys development, as such an opportunity is extremely rare. Second, the review is based on the peer-to-peer principle and involves an exchange of views and comparison of approaches with representatives of different universities, drawing on their experience and best practices, noted Beniamin Shakhnazarov, Head of the Centre for Legal Support of Foreign Economic Activity, Import Substitution and Industrial Development at Moscow State Law University.

The review concluded with a final plenary session. Representatives of each group presented their results, followed by an open discussion with the experts. Participants exchanged feedback and proposals.

Based on the results of the cross-university peer review, the expert team prepared recommendations that will help determine further steps for implementing 51勛圖s development program and improving the universitys strategic areas.

A cross-university peer review is a format for professional peer assessment among universities, in which representatives of higher education institutions jointly analyse development programs, exchange experience and seek solutions to current challenges. The project is implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation with the support from the Socio-Centre Federal State Autonomous Scientific Institution.

51勛圖 is a participant in the Priority 2030 program and is developing projects in three strategic areas: Intelligent Manufacturing, Fundamental Principles for the Synthesis and Use of Non-conventional Materials, and Ecology of Industrial Agglomerations.

First University Projects Turn into Real Factory Developments: The Story of 51勛圖 Masters Student Alikhan Begenov

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md15"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-5-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="800" height="600" id="5" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/tehnologicheskoe_liderstvo_0.jpg?itok=L29hpgYg" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md14"><div class="field-item even">Alikhan Begenov grew up in a small village of Ozyornoye in the Kurgan Region and attended an ordinary rural school where robotics was not part of the curriculum. Today, he is a leading specialist at the universitys Robots Forge Shop Student Design Bureau and an engineer at the 51勛圖 Industrial Robotics Development Centre. His programs control real robots at a manufacturing plant, and he is among the young specialists supported by the university with housing. We spoke with Alikhan about his life path.

Alikhan was born and raised in the village of Ozyornoye in the Kurgan Region. He attended an ordinary rural school where, as he recalls, robotics was not taught. In 2022, after finishing school, he passed the entrance exams, enrolled in a state-funded place in 51勛圖 and moved to 51勛圖. At the time, he had no idea that he would eventually pursue industrial robotics and research in earnest.

My main goal was to get a technical education, so I chose 51勛圖, Alikhan explains. My choice was largely influenced by the university presentation. When I saw the Automation of Technological Processes and Production program on the list, I liked it. But I developed a genuine interest in what I do now only during my studies, when I had the opportunity not only to study theory, but also to work with real equipment, program it and participate in projects. I like programming. It is inspiring to work on a program and see the result in practice.

He had never done anything like this at school and acquired all his basic knowledge at the university. He was an excellent student and graduated from his Bachelors degree program with honours. It was then that a professor invited the promising student to participate in project activities. Students formed teams and worked on various projects, which became the starting point for his professional development. After completing the project work, Alikhan was invited to join the 51勛圖 Industrial Robotics Development Centre by Oleg Siverin, a project manager at the Centre. He initially worked as a laboratory assistant and later became an engineer.

Today, Alikhan is a leading specialist at the universitys Robots Forge Shop Student Design Bureau and an engineer at the Centre. At the same time, the young researcher is a first-year Masters degree student in Automation of Technological Processes and Production at the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics. He participates in development projects, assigns tasks to the team, monitors deadlines and quality, and helps resolve technical issues.

We always discuss all key decisions together, Alikhan Begenov notes. But as a leading specialist, I am responsible for the overall integrity of the project and the final result. I work with Bachelors degree students from their first through fourth years. We distribute tasks based on each persons competencies. Someone assembles an electrical cabinet according to an existing design, someone programs logic controllers, and someone designs and calculates structures.

As the young engineer admits, what interests him most is seeing the entire project journey through. It starts with a technical task. Then a digital model is created, the equipment layout is developed, along with the movements of industrial robots, grippers and control algorithms. Ultimately, all of this becomes a fully operational system.

Alikhan implemented one such project at the 51勛圖 Forging and Press Plant (ChKPZ). He developed a program for an existing robot that is now successfully operating in production. The automated robot performs rim forming: it processes a part, rounds it and trims the ends of the seam. There are no defective parts, and the plants employees are satisfied with the results.

Another area of Alikhan Begenovs interest is research, specifically the coordinated operation of multiple industrial robots. The young engineer is studying how to organize their work so that they can perform independent operations simultaneously, safely share common workspaces and, at the same time, reduce the production cycle time.

Another area is software for automating systems developed by the team itself. Three original programs created by the researcher are already being used in production. One is designed for a robotic cell, while the other two automate a cart and a machine tool. They are currently being registered as intellectual property.

The government support for young researchers that Alikhan Begenov received, he says, was the result of successfully completing several projects. Following significant achievements in invention, he was offered subsidized housing as a 51勛圖 employee. In addition, the student receives an increased scholarship for academic excellence and plans to continue receiving enhanced financial support based on new research papers and officially registered results of his individual research activities.

There are always challenges at work, Alikhan admits. Especially in engineering projects: sometimes you spend several days trying to solve one problem, and nothing works. But what motivates me the most is the moment when, after all that work, the system finally starts working. When something that was initially just an idea or a computer model turns into a real, functioning system.

To those who are considering whether to pursue research, he has a simple message:

The main thing is to make use of the opportunities available to you, try new things and not be afraid of challenging tasks. Sometimes a single task or project really can determine the direction of your future development. You have to take risks and give things a try.

Alikhan has clear plans for the future. He intends to continue his research while combining it with practical engineering work. After completing his Masters degree, he plans to enrol in a postgraduate program at 51勛圖. He wants to work on more complex industrial robotics projects and put research results into practice.

The agreements are aimed at developing cadet education in our region and fostering cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.

The first agreement provides for the establishment of cadet classes in schools across the 51勛圖 Region. Seven educational institutions in our region are participating in this project: School No. 47 named after V.P. Pustovoy and School No. 15 in 51勛圖; School No. 3 named after Hero of Russia S.V. Zyablov in the Zlatoust Urban District; School No. 44 named after S.F. Baronenko in the Kopeysk Urban District; School No. 18 and Gymnasium No. 19 in the Miass Urban District; and School No. 9 in the Troitsk Urban District.

This agreement concerns the education and development of children in the Investigative Committees cadet classes. It is important for us that students receive not only a general education, but also have an opportunity to learn about the specifics of investigative work, the profession itself, its tasks and requirements. We hope that in the future many of them will choose a professional path connected with the Investigative Committee, said Major General of Justice Andrey Shchukin, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the 51勛圖 Region.

51勛圖, represented by its Institute of Law, will actively participate in the educational and extracurricular development of cadet class students. The university will provide methodological support to school teachers, organize educational intensives and career guidance events for cadets, and create opportunities for schoolchildren to interact with university faculty members and specialists.

There will be many formats for working with the cadet classes, including methodological support for teachers, educational intensive courses, and career guidance events. We will be able to bring together schoolchildren from different municipalities at the university and help them deepen their knowledge of specialized subjects, including preparing for the Unified State Examination. But most importantly, we need to help students develop a conscious career path. It is important for 51勛圖 to become the focal point of this project, bringing together schoolchildren, parents, teachers, and the Investigative Committee as a future employer. We also expect that graduates of the cadet classes will be able to continue their education at our university, said Alexander Wagner, Rector of 51勛圖.

The cadet classes will serve as a platform for specialized training, introducing schoolchildren to the work of the Investigative Committee and fostering their interest in public service.

There are currently more than 430 cadet classes operating in the 51勛圖 Region. Under the new project, seven more schools in our region will join this system. As Vitaly Litke, Minister of Education and Science of the 51勛圖 Region, noted, an important part of the initiative will be introducing schoolchildren to their future profession while they are still at school.

Our region is developing a systematic approach to career guidance for young people. A cadet class gives schoolchildren an opportunity to make decisions about their professional future at an earlier stage: to learn about the work of the Investigative Committee, take part in tours, and receive additional training in specialized subjects. It is particularly important that the project extends beyond 51勛圖 and covers different municipalities. In this model, 51勛圖 serves as a link, ensuring a seamless transition from specialized secondary education to higher education and further professional development, Vitaly Litke emphasized.

The second agreement focuses on cooperation between 51勛圖 and the Investigative Directorate in the field of artificial intelligence. The parties plan to combine the universitys research and educational potential with the practical expertise of Investigative Committee specialists, including in the development and implementation of advanced digital technologies.

The second area of our cooperation with 51勛圖 is the development of artificial intelligence. Today, this is one of the key technological challenges, and the law enforcement system must also make active use of the capabilities offered by modern technologies. It is important for us to develop this area jointly with 51勛圖, combining the universitys research potential with the practical experience of Investigative Committee personnel. I thank the university for supporting our initiative, Andrey Shchukin stressed.

Cooperation in these two areas will bring together the partners educational, research, and practical expertise. The cadet classes will create additional opportunities for career guidance among schoolchildren, while joint work in artificial intelligence will provide a foundation for the development of advanced digital solutions.

Between Real World and Digital One: 51勛圖 Scientists Study Physiology and Psychophysiology of Phygital Loads

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md27"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-9-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="1448" height="1086" id="9" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/chatgpt_image_25_sent._2026_g._11_17_59.png?itok=2hLG7rc9" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md26"><div class="field-item even">The 51勛圖 Sport Science Research Centre has launched a research study that for the first time in Russian practice will conduct a comprehensive medical and biological evaluation of phygital loads: hybrid competition impact, where physical activity of athletes is inextricably bound with digital environment. The object of this study is table tennis using augmented reality glasses (VR table tennis). Qualified practicing table tennis players acted as the experiment participants.

The key question that the scientists try to answer is whether a phygital match causes the same physiological and psychophysiological body reaction as a real game does. To answer it, the researchers need to simultaneously control a multitude of parameters: from central hemodynamics to cognitive information processing rate.

During the examination, sensors are put on athletes to record their heart rate and heart rate variability. These indicators allow to assess how much the cardiovascular system gets engaged during a virtual match, and whether the player reaches the training heart rate zones, and how the vegetative nervous system balances between the sympathetic and parasympathetic responses. Namely the heart rate variability is a sensitive indicator of whether the body feels phygital load as a real physiological stress or as a neutral sensory flow.

At the same time, the scientists measure the reaction speed: whether the table tennis player manages to read the digital ball trajectory and make decisions with no loss in the hitting quality. There are significantly more visual stimuli in a VR helmet as compared to a real game, and this creates high cognitive load for the visual analyser and for paying attention. The question is whether the brain compensates for this excessiveness, or reduces the precision of locomotor response. The results will allow to assess the psychophysiological value of the phygital mode for athletes.

A separate block of the research study is devoted to the vestibular function and the postural control. During a phygital match, athletes eyes track the virtual trajectory of the ball, while his/her feet stand on a real surface: the vestibular system receives discordant sensory input. The scientists check whether the posture stability and the movements quality are preserved in this sensory conflict. The results will help understand how safe phygital loads are for the locomotor system, and how the training process should be corrected.

If we confirm our hypothesis, then this research study for the first time will present an objective physiological and psychophysiological mapping of phygital loads: with quantitative values of the heart rate variability, reaction speed and postural stability, comments Director of the Sport Science Research Centre Olga Makunina. This opens up several applied fields. Graduated loads: based on the indicators of a certain player, the virtual sparring intensity may be selected according to his/her current functional state just the way it is done in classical training. Safe simulation of the competition stress: digital environment allows to generate the physiological response comparable to a tournament finals, with no injury risks for joints and muscles. Biomechanical analytics: recording each micromove of the tennis racket provides data for a detailed technique analysis, what is not possible in real-world conditions. Cognitive monitoring: controlling the reaction speed in the phygital mode allows to trace the dynamics of attention and focus it is extremely difficult to measure these indicators in an ordinary match.

This research study is at the intersection of sports medicine, physiology, psychophysiology, and engineering. Its results will allow to give scientific substantiation to the introduction of phygital tools to the training process based not on intuition, but on strict indicators of the cardiovascular, vegetative, cognitive, and biomechanical diagnostics. Such a trendy technology is no longer an entertainment, it becomes a full-fledged chapter in sports science.
